Gill is an Associate Professor in the law school at Monash University and head of the Finance, Investment and Taxation group in the Centre for Commercial Law & Regulatory Studies. Prior to joining academia, she worked at multinational corporations and investment banks in the world’s major financial centres (London, Tokyo, New York and Sydney). Her roles included senior executive positions across the areas of corporate strategy, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and funds management. Gill has a doctorate in law and is a chartered accountant and experienced financial analyst.
Gill has taught corporations law, corporate governance, banking law, finance law, commercial transactions, corporate finance and securities regulation, and insolvency law. Her areas of research focus include corporate governance, company disclosure law and practice, financial services regulation, finance and investment law, and financial market efficiency, fairness and transparency. Gill has published widely in Australia and internationally across all of these areas.
